Committee C: Congress 2008 preparations

 

Committee charge:

 

Committee C is charged with

1)      Reviewing the  Progress on Congress planning an schedule to date

2)      Planning for each chapter to send one student and one alumnus (the 1&1 campaign)

3)      Continuing the planning for the schedule of events and speakers for the Congress

 

 

 

 

 

 Immediate Assignments (From 9/29/07):

Caron – will contact Spencer Weart (History center) who would know Garwin and Cronin.

 

Feller – Invite Burnell, and Richter & Goldston, Adrienn Melott.

 

Viano – Invite Bredesen

 

Schwabb – Website and general Publications (eg physics today)

 

Williams – Parallel meetings contact. (contact Jerome for joint meeting).

 

Wagner – Art coordinator. Draft a Diversity Plan.

 

Gaither – Point of contact for arranging tours.

 

Olsen – Schedule Guru

 

Stimatze – Organizer / secretary.

 

White – Contact for GB. invite Lanzarotti. Request for permission to use Ehlers and Holt names on publications.

 

Denby – 1 & 1 campaign.

 

Sawyer – Liaison and national representative on local committee.

 

Diamond – Floater for jobs needing done. Currently cleaning up the meeting summary.

 

Need to appoint chair of local organizing committee?

 

Make arrangements for poster session? Done by national office.

 

Assignments for Local Organizing Committee :

Get list of Sigma Pi Sigma members at Fermi Lab. (e.g. Mike Crisler?)

Arrange breakfast with scientists

Organizing the zone meeting (Jerome Wilson)
